His passion for off-road riding began as a young boy in the Ganaraska Forest surrounding the family farm. Paul put in over 9000 km on the seat of his JT60 mini endurothose first 3 years,forging many trails that still exist today before moving on to bigger and faster bikes.
And there have been numerous bigger and faster bikes in Hoppy’sriding career. His favourite saying to anyone in the sport “…you can never have too many dirt bikes!” is evident by the ever-expanding inventory in his garage. Some of the more notable dirt bikes have been the Husqvarna CR125, Can Am MX6 400, Honda CR 500 and in his street bike phase the Yamaha fj1200, KTM 950 adventure bike. His two bikes of choice today are the KTM EXC 450 and KTM XC-W 300.
Beyond the countless hours of trail riding, Paul has participated in many charity rides, has volunteered for numerous Rally Connex events, is a member of the NTR and the OFTR and puts in much time maintaining trails in and around the Ganaraska Forest. His love for adventure has taken him on many ‘Epic’ rides through the Continental Divide, Nevada, 4-Corners of Colorado and down the BC coast. Beyond the next ‘Epic’ ride, Paul hopes to add Vintage Motocrossto his list of accomplishments.
Hoppy’s infectious passion for the sport, his natural ability to encourage and teach new and seasoned riders alike will be a great asset to the Rally Connex Team.
