Darrin Rideout
Darrin Rideout’s love for all things moto began at around the age of 8 when his father purchased a 1984 Honda ATC 200m to help around their family cottage in Ompah Ontario. After putting that very limited machine through hell for many years, Darrin graduated to fancier three wheeled machines and then over to two wheeled bikes starting with XR’s, CRs then Adventure bikes/ Dual Sports, and Enduro’s.
Darrin participates in as many events as possible throughout the Ontario season including Rock Hound, Dacre, Calabogie Boogie, OVR, Weslemkoon Trail ride to name a few. He is a proud OFTR member through the Bytown Motorcycle Association and is the Lead for the BMA for Area 31- a Trials and Hard Enduro practice area in Ottawa. Darrin considers Calabogie his main Enduro riding area and has been riding the area of Calabogie/ Ompah/ Plevna for 30 years now. Darrin has two daughters who love to dirtbiking as well so the sport is now a major family affair. Currently, Darrin owns a KTM 500exc which he rides in Baja, Mexico, a KTM 300xc-w as his primary bike for events and single track riding, as well as a Arden.
Outside of riding in Ontario, Darrin also thoroughly enjoys the challenges of desert riding in Baja Mexico. His love for all things Baja began with a visit to a family member who lived there when Darrin was 10 years old. He now travels down and rides multi day adventures and vacations with family as often as he's able. In November 2021, Darrin followed through on his dream and competed in the Score Baja 1000 in the Pro Moto Ironman class where he was among only 6 of the 13 riders in the class who finished inside the 50 hour time window. Darrin considers GPS navigation a major advancement to the sport of dirtbiking and prides himself on building precise and exciting new routes to share with moto friends both around Ontario and in Baja.
